Dr. Sieglinde (Siggy) Mullers is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and a certified specialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. She is primarily based in the Rotunda Hospital. Her special interests include prenatal diagnosis, advanced obstetric ultrasound, multiple pregnancy, fetal echocardiography, high-risk obstetrics and labour ward management. She also practices benign gynecology.
Originally from Galway, Siggy qualified with an honours degree from NUIG. She went on to complete Higher Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Rotunda Hospital, University Hospital Galway and Our lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, and has been working in the specialty for over ten years. She recently completed a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine in Dublin and Columbia University Medical Centre, New York. While in New York her focus was primarily in high-risk pregnancies including multiple pregnancy.
During the course of her clinical training, she was also awarded a PhD by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland for her research work investigating platelet function in placental disease. Her research has led her to develop an interest in the prevention of preeclampsia and managing pregnancies at risk of fetal growth restriction.
